Why is the Ecocert Certification so important?

ECOCERT® prioritizes natural and natural origin ingredients over any other source. They emphasize using organic agriculture, ensuring ecological values. The organization aims for full transparency, providing consumers with accurate information through clear communication. ECOCERT® values manufacturers' efforts to improve the quality of their supplies and products, fostering a dynamic and evolving certification process.

ECOCERT® was the first certification body to develop a standard for "Ecological and Organic Cosmetics."

Key Principles of the ECOCERT® Standard:

  1. The use of ingredients from renewable resources processed through environmentally friendly methods. ECOCERT® verifies the absence of GMOs, parabens, phenoxyethanol, nanoparticles, silicone, PEG, synthetic fragrances, synthetic colors, and animal-derived ingredients.
  2. A minimum threshold of natural and organic farming ingredients to achieve certification:
  • For "Organic Cosmetics," a minimum of 95% of plant ingredients must be from organic farming.
  • For "Ecological Cosmetics," a minimum of 50% of plant ingredients must be from organic farming.

Important Note: Some common cosmetic ingredients like water, salts, and minerals cannot be certified organic as they are not sourced from agriculture. For example, certain products like shampoos, creams, or oils may have varying percentages of organic ingredients based on their composition.
